  • Personality Types

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator determines sixteen personality types from a psychometric questionnaire. I'm an INFJ (Introversion iNtuition, Feeling, Judging). My type represents about 1% of the population. I have been job hunting for the past month and found resources about matching up personality types and jobs to find a good fit.

The reason I bring this up is that I came across another resource that explained personality types with respect to relationships. Surprisingly, the description for INFJ's were fairly accurate. I bolded the parts that I think matched me well:

"INFJs are warm and affirming people who are usually also deep and complex. They're likely to seek out and promote relationships that are intense and meaningful. They tend to be perfectionists, and are always striving for the Ultimate Relationship. For the most part, this is a positive feature, but sometimes works against the INFJ if they fall into the habit of moving from relationship to relationship, always in search of a more perfect partner. In general, the INFJ is a deeply warm and caring person who is highly invested in the health of their close relationships, and puts forth a lot of effort to make them positive. They are valued by those close to them for these special qualities. They seek long-term, lifelong relationships, although they don't always find them." -- from http://www.personalitypage.com/INFJ_rel.html

I think this might be a good way to understand yourself or your partner. If you want to take the test to determine your personality type, it's here: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

OMG Carl Jung. I remember his name from AP Psychology but I don't remember what he did. LOL

I answered all 72 questions and it turns out I'm an ISFJ. I must say a lot of what they say is true about me, though I hate to admit to some of them.

haha. I did this a while back & I'm an INFJ as well! Hello there to part of that 1% of the population~ :D

That description is pretty true of me.. >.< Except the jumping from relationship to relationship in search of the ultimate partner.. I'd rather opt for being single while I "window shop" for the ultimate partner. :P & the whole being valued for these special qualities? So true! My boyfriend said along those same lines when asked what attracted him to me~ :)
